Mohammad Zakir Hossain joined as Director General of Financial Management Academy (FIMA) on September 11, 2018. He is a member of the 1985 batch of the Bangladesh Civil Service (Audit and Accounts) cadre. He obtained his B.Com. (Hons.) and M.Com. in Accounting from University of Dhaka having first class in both the examinations. He also holds an M.B.A. from University of Canberra, Australia.
He has been working in various capacities in the Audit and Accounts Department of Bangladesh since his joining in the civil service. Some of the important positions he held in the department are Director General of Performance Audit Directorate, Director General of Foreign Aided Projects Audit Directorate, Director General of PTST Audit Directorate, Director General of Commercial Audit Directorate and Project Director of Strengthening Public Expenditure Management Program (SPEMP-B). Before joining FIMA, he was working as Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh.
He also has wide experience of working in international organizations on lien. He worked in the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the UN, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Royal Norwegian Embassy, Dhaka.
